Joe became the HBA's Executive Officer in 2006. In this role, he helps direct the association's day-to-day operations, including legislative affairs, staff management, and budgetary oversight. Prior to joining the HBA, Joe worked as the Director of Affiliate Services with the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, DC. He's been in association management for eleven years and is a graduate of the University of Michigan. Joe currently lives in Little Rock with his wife, Elisabeth and their two puppies, Maize and Chapin.

Focus areas: Legislative Affairs, Media Relations, Building Permits, Codes, Green Building, Political Action Committee, Registered Builder Program and Board of Directors.

Shannon Smiatek

Office and Events Manager

Shannon became the HBA's Office and Events Manager in 2006. In this role, she works to coordinate, develop and manage special events including the annual HOME SHOW, Chili Cook-off and networking nights. She also works closely with the Executive Director in maintaining and updating the HBA's finances. Prior to this, she served as the association's Administrative Assistant since 2001. Shannon grew up in North Little Rock and is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas. She currently lives in North Little Rock with her husband, Tom, two children and their dog, Heidi.

Focus areas: HOME SHOW, Event Management and Registration, Chili Cook-off, Associate Appreciation Night, Speed Networking, Annual Holiday Gala, Golf Tournament and Mix and Mingles.

Lauren Laney

Membership & Marketing Coordinator

Lauren became the HBA's Membership & Marketing Coordinator in 2008. In this role, she works to develop and manage membership recruitment and retention programs. Moreover, she coordinates general marketing, communications and branding of the association including writing press releases and editing the monthly newsletter. Prior to the joining the HBA, Lauren worked as an Account Executive for Building Arkansas Magazine, a publication for Arkansas home builders. She has been involved in the building industry for over three years and is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Lauren resides in Little Rock with her dog, Pixie.

Keith Wingfield, LEED, CGP, CGB

Keith Wingfield was sworn in as President of the HBA in December 2009. In this role, he leads the Board of Directors in reviewing and establishing association policy. He is also the spokesperson of the association, approving press releases and handling media interviews and requests. Keith joined the HBA in 2000 and stepped onto the board in 2002. Prior to this, he was active with the Association of General Contractors, having served on their board from 1989-1995. He currently sits on the City of Little Rock’s Land Bank Commission and is co-manager of the GREEN BUILT® Model Home. Keith holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, is LEED-certified, and holds his Certified Green Professional (CGP) and Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) designations. He owns River Rock Builders with his wife, Patty.
