Welcome to the GREEN BUILT® Model Home - a project designed to educate members and the consumer public about cost effective sustainable building practices. On Thursday, November 5th the HBA broke ground on the home. Speakers included:
For the next seven months, members of the HBA will be constructing the home. Using materials provided by member companies that will promote less energy consumption and a healthier living environment, the HBA is showcasing leading technology and design. From September 17-19, 2010, we anticipate hosting a series of open houses for the consumer public. Our goal is to show that green building can be both practical and affordable.
The GREEN BUILT Model Home is located at 14007 Foxfield Lane of the Woodland's Edge Subdivision in West Little Rock. As NAHB's 2009 Green Building Project of the Year and America's first 4-Star Sustainable Development, Woodlands Edge seemed to be a natural home for this exciting project.
The home is being built to the National Green Building Standard and we anticipate it will certify for Gold, the second highest rated level.
We encourage you to visit often to view our progress and participate in the making of this wonderful educational project.
