Welcome to the GREEN BUILT® Model Home - a project designed to educate members and the consumer public about cost effective sustainable building practices. On Friday, August 27, the HBA dedicated the finished home to members and the Arkansas community. Over one-hundred guests attended including featured speakers:
The ribbon cutting ceremony was just the beginning of nearly a month long celebration of sustainable construction education. On Thursday, September 2, the association will host a reception and tour for Public Officials/Candidates/Industry Leaders at the home beginning at 6:30 p.m. On Thursday, September 9, the association welcomes area Realtors and Appraisers for a special reception and tour beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Our program culminates on September 17-19, 2010, with home tours for the consumer public. Guest can catch a shuttle from the Savers parking lot (corner of Hermitage and Bowman in West Little Rock) on Friday, from noon - 5:00 p.m; Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from noon - 5:00 p.m. There will be no parking at the home itself.
The GREEN BUILT Model Home is located at 14007 Foxfield Lane of the Woodland's Edge Subdivision in West Little Rock. As NAHB's 2009 Green Building Project of the Year and America's first 4-Star Sustainable Development, Woodlands Edge seemed to be a natural home for this exciting project.
The home is being built to the National Green Building Standard and we anticipate it will certify for Gold, the second highest rated level.
