EPA Requires New Lead Paint Certification for Contractors
Beginning April 22, contractors working on facilities built prior to 1978 are required to have EPA lead paint certification. Renovations that disturb painted surfaces in homes, day care centers and schools must be performed by a certified firm with a Certified Renovator on staff. Such activities include, but are not limited to modification, repair, sanding, scraping and removal or replacement of components such as windows and doors.
