The Federal Tax Credits are not being extended. However the deadline to close is being extended through September 30, 2010. Due to the length of time to close on short sales and distressed properties, Congress did vote on June 30 to extend the closing deadline for the Federal tax credits, including the $8,000 first time and $6,500 move up buyer credits.
