President of National Association of Home Builders Dedicates Model Home
President of the National association of home builders dedicates green built® model home
August 27, 2010 – Today, the GREEN BUILT® Arkansas Model Home makes its grand debut! After ten months of extensive planning from the Association’s 33 Certified Green Professionals and its GREEN BUILT® Council, members are hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and tour this evening in Woodlands Edge.
The Homebuilder's Association of Greater Little Rock welcomes the National Association of Home Builders President, Bob Jones, as the guest of honor in dedicating the Model Home, along with other notable officials. “The National Association of Home Builders has been on the forefront of green building since establishing the Green Building Guidelines to creating the ANSI-certified National Green Building Standard,” said HBA-GLR President Keith Wingfield, of River Rock Builders. “We borrowed on the spirit of NAHB and created a green program in 2008 that would be complementary to the Natural State,” added Wingfield. This project has served as an educational tool for association members and for the consumer public. The GREEN BUILT® Model Home will be certified Gold to the Standard. The project will culminate with a Consumer Open House scheduled for the weekend of September 17-19. Certified Green Professionals will be onsite for consumer guidance during the tour.
